This post will explain what an Integrated Facility License is, how to apply for it, fees, and requirements.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Back in February of 2021, Alabama&#8217;s government legalized medical cannabis, making it the 36th state to do so. Then last May,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marijuanamoment.net\/alabama-governor-signs-medical-marijuana-legalization-bill\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Governor Kay Ivey signed the Alabama medical marijuana legalization bill<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. This opened Alabama to the cannabis industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One of the licenses you may apply for in Alabama is known as the Integrated Facility license. We will explain what it is about and what are the main most important points in getting one.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What is an Integrated Facility License?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">An Alabama Cannabis Integrated Facility License is an all-in-one business license that allows the applicant to perform most (if not all) of the business activities and processes in the cannabis industry within the state.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The license for a cannabis integrated facility business comprises many activities from other licenses, the applicant can fulfill the responsibilities of:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/alabama-cannabis-cultivators-license-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A cultivator<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">; since it allows the cultivation of medical cannabis in Alabama.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/how-to-apply-for-an-alabama-cannabis-processor-license\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A processor<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">; since it allows the correct processing of medical cannabis, including packaging and labeling of medical cannabis products.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/alabama-dispensary-license-application\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A dispensary<\/span><\/strong><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">; since it allows to dispense and sell medical cannabis to qualified patients and caregivers that show their respective Alabama medical marijuana card.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A transporter<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">; since it allows to securely transport of medical cannabis between facilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sell and transfer medical cannabis to a dispensary.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Requirements for a Cannabis Integrated Facility License<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As with other Alabama cannabis business licensees, the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/amcc.alabama.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Alabama Medical Cannabis Commission (AMCC)<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0has set a list of basic requirements to apply for one:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Type of license<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Name<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Business address<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Business email address<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Business phone number<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Social Security Number or Federal Tax Identification Number<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Have no prior felony convictions<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Additionally, applicants must submit\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/alabama-marijuana-business-licenses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a series of mandatory content and documents to the AMCC<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0to ensure the prospective applicants and future licensees comply with their regulations. And since the Integrated Facility License includes growing and cultivation activities in the cannabis industry, the applicant must also comply with the regulations and requirements the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink broken_link\" href=\"https:\/\/agi.alabama.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries (ADAI)<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0may have.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fees and additional costs<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Integrated Facility License in Alabama has more concrete information related to fees and costs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As with other Alabama marijuana business licenses, the application may cost around $10,000 to $50,000. The AMCC also establishes a non-refundable application fee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Since the Integrated Facility License is an all-in-one approach to the cannabis industry, the AMCC has set the following financial requirements specific to this license, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A letter of commitment or other acknowledgment, as determined by the AMCC, that certifies the applicant&#8217;s ability to secure a performance bond issued by a surety insurance company of two million dollars ($2,000,000)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Certified proof of at least two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) in liquid assets.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Certified proof that the applicant has the financial ability and stability to maintain operations for no less than two years following the application date.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">At the time the licensee is issued, the AMCC requests the applicant has secured a performance bond.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Additional considerations<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A licensee may operate up to five dispensaries, each located in different counties from the other unless the AMCC authorizes the licensee to operate a greater number if the commission determines the patient pool reached a sufficient level to justify this.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Interested in applying?
