{"id":239760,"date":"2022-09-04T15:40:03","date_gmt":"2022-09-04T21:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/?p=239760"},"modified":"2025-07-14T11:37:24","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T17:37:24","slug":"new-york-caurd-license-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/new-york-caurd-license-application\/","title":{"rendered":"New York CAURD License Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div id=\"schema-videoobject\" class=\"video-container\"><\/div>\n<h2>New York Conditional Adult Use Retail Dispensary (CAURD) License<\/h2>\n<p><strong>150 CAURD licenses for qualified Justice Involved applicants will be issued in New York by the Office of Cannabis Management.\u00a0 These dispensary licenses are going to be awarded only to eligible individuals pursuant to Section 116 of the rules.\u00a0 These are the only <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/\">New York dispensaries<\/a> issued in 2022.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>What documents will I need to apply for a CAURD license?<\/h3>\n<p>The applic<span style=\"font-size: 16px;font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Roboto, Oxygen-Sans, Ubuntu, Cantarell, 'Helvetica Neue', sans-serif\">ation will ask for information about the applicant and all \u201ctrue parties of interest\u201d in the applicant.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/map-of-marijuana-legality-by-state\/new-york\/\">True parties of interest<\/a> include persons:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>that are sole proprietors, partners, <a href=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/cannabis-business-license-in-new-york\/\">LLC members<\/a>, LLC managers, shareholders, and their spouses;<\/li>\n<li>with control over a licensee;<\/li>\n<li>holding an actual or future right to ownership, investment or compensation, including by stock, convertible bond, note, warrant, option, SAFE, equity swap agreements over a licensee;<\/li>\n<li>serving in a leadership, senior, or control position, such as a member, manager, president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, officer, board 4 member, trustee, director, or a person with equivalent title or position in a licensee, and their spouses;<\/li>\n<li>holding a revenue sharing agreement or a right to gross profit or net profit;<\/li>\n<li>that guarantee the debts of the licensee; <strong>or<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>making up the ownership structure of each level of ownership of a licensee that has a multilevel ownership structure, and their spouses.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote><p>Only like 25 of the 150 licenses are earmarked for non-profits.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-237930\" src=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/New-York-2-300x169.webp\" alt=\"New York CAURD license applicants\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" data-wp-pid=\"237930\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/New-York-2-300x169.webp 300w, https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/New-York-2-1024x576.webp 1024w, https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/New-York-2-768x432.webp 768w, https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/New-York-2-1200x675-cropped.webp 1200w, https:\/\/cannabisindustrylawyer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/New-York-2.webp 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Unless you are eligible under the qualifying non-profit criteria, you will also be asked for information about the justice-involved individual who is the sole control owner of the applicant and their qualifying business experience.
